20ml (pictured) - £13.00
50ml - £24.00

I've heard a lot about Balance Me's products through magazines and online but up until now had never tried any of their products, I guess it's because (also up until now) I couldn't quite justify the price tag. However, with my skin regime constantly changing and me deciding that it's time to stop compromising on quality because of price, I'm no longer scared to spend a few extra pounds if I know that what I'm purchasing is totally worth the money.

So, on to the review! This face cream is targeted at 'normal to dry/sensitive skin', my first niggle is that I think this product would be better targeted at just dry skin, why? Because I found it far, far too thick and rich. Yes, I know it says 'moisture-rich' but it also says that it's ideal for normal skin - I would have expected it to be thinner in consistency. I've read other reviews for this product and a few have mentioned that 1) a little goes a long way, 2) it doesn't feel too heavy on the skin and 3) there is no lasting greasiness - I wholeheartedly disagree with all.

Because of the thick consistency of this cream, I found that my usual pea-sized amount wasn't even nearly enough to cover both cheeks, I ended up having to use double the amount of cream that I would usually use in order to give my whole face a moisturise, which leads me to points 2 & 3; heaviness & the lasting greasiness. The first time I used this I found it to be rather unpleasant because it felt very heavy and took quite a long time to soak in, obviously leaving my face with a greasy film on it for a good 30 minutes, not ideal if you're in a rush to put your make-up on in the morning! I wasn't going to let my initial dissatisfaction put me off of trying this again though, as it's likely I'm just not used to such a heavily moisturising cream due to the fact that I've always preferred lighter creams.

What I can say about this cream that I instantly liked was the way it smells; it has a divine rose fragrance that comes as a result of the rosehip oil used in this concoction, it makes the process of applying this a little more luxurious and, hooray for sensitive skin, all the fragrances in this cream are 100% natural so are unlikely to upset even the most sensitive of skins (ahem, mine).

Since having used this a few more times, I'm gradually getting used to it, due to the richness of this cream I've reserved this for use strictly in the evening after I take off my make-up, which handily makes up for my lack of an actual night-cream! Because I'm using it immediately before I hit the sack the heaviness and tacky feeling it leaves on my skin doesn't matter at all either, another pro! As this cream is jam-packed full of oils, the tackiness it leaves does, of course, feel very oily but it's not at all unpleasant and actually feels as though it's giving your skin a good drink of the oil is so desperately needs.

Ending on another positive, this cream claims to plump and smooth the skin, does it do the job? Well, I've always been skeptical about 'plumping' and 'smoothing' formulas because it leaves me open to a placebo-effect but, placebo-effect or not, I have definitely noticed a new 'fullness' to my skin and it looks very healthy, even after only 4 uses. Could anyone else notice? I have no idea, all I know is that I've noticed and that's all that really matters.

Bottom line though, I don't think I'd bother repurchasing this cream as it's definitely far too heavy for a day cream and too pricey for something that I chuck on my face before bed. I don't suffer from dry skin on my face so I'll be sticking to moisturiser with a thinner consistency from now-on, but for those who suffer badly with dry skin, I believe this could well be your little miracle-in-a-tube!
