My go-to products this Summer!

It's not very often we get near enough a month of non-stop sun here in rainy England, so this Summer I took full advantage of the glorious weather and had a break from rainy-day up-dos, jeans and full make-up. Allow me to let you snoop into my Summer 'survival kit', these products have allowed me to look effortlessly made-up on a lazy, hazy day...

Blistering heat and working behind a very busy bar/walking around town/soaking up the sun in the park left my make-up near enough melting off in a matter of minutes, this is where BB cream became my savior!
I impulse-bought Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB Cream quite a while ago when I was staying at a friends house and had forgotten to pack my moisturiser and foundation - I didn't really think much of it on it's own, I found that it was too thick and didn't blend very well. But mixed with this shimmering day cream it works wonders, especially on top of a natural tan - I find that when I tan I don't need much make-up anyway, so this gave just enough light coverage...the SPF 30 has proved a bonus this Summer too!
This face cream is from Aldi, yes Aldi - not exactly luxe I know, but it's one of the nicest moisturisers I've used. Perfect for my sensitive skin, it also adds a nice shimmer which is great for emphasizing my tan.
Finally, I finish with a sweep of bronzer on my cheeks. During the winter I use Bourjois blusher, but when the sun is shining bronzer is a must! I don't bother spending much money on bronzers or powders and this one from Natural Collection does the job with a nice price tag too.

I always tend to learn the hard way when it comes to the importance of sun lotion - I'm really pale and burn easily, this Summer has been no different. As most of the sun lotions I had in my cupboard were from holidays long ago, I figured it'd be a good idea to buy some more, just incase the SPF had expired. I bought a hand-bag sized bottle for when I'm out and about, for this factor 15 was enough. And I went for Factor 20 for days spent in the garden on the sun lounger.
Cosmopolitan is my sunny-day magazine of choice and that's where I got a free bottle of this Nip + Fab Dry Leg Fix, I don't get dry legs but I've found this is great as a deep nourishment lotion for my legs post-shave.

My hair is finally long enough for me to ditch the ponytails and let it down, yay! For this, my routine is quick and easy - it's really just a matter of blow-dry, straighten and style.
I use Shockwaves styling wax to smooth over my freshly straightened hair, this keeps fly-away's at bay, then I run some Charles Worthington Frizz Free Serum through to mend any frizz or fly-away's that the wax missed and finish with a spritz of L'Oreal Elnett - simples!

I'm definitely an Elnett convert, I'd always sworn by Silvikrin for both price and performance, but Elnett is fab if you don't mind spending a few extra pennies (well, pounds...).
