As I've been trying to find a really good foundation that provides decent coverage, lasts long enough and is good for my skin, I started looking into different brands and after having a look on the Maxfactor website I found that this foundation is -
Non comedogenic (won't clog pores)
Oil free
Suitable for sensitive skin
Dermatologically tested
So I decided to go and buy it, even though I've only just bought a new foundation (I'm a foundation junkie, and the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid wasn't actually as great as I originally thought) At first, while sampling this in the shop, I couldn't decide whether it was the right colour, as the lightest colour (pictured) is still darker than I'd usually opt for, but as it's a colour adapting foundation that claims to match the pigmentation of your skin, I threw caution to the wind and bought it. I'm so glad I did!
What I really love is that this is a cream to powder formula, so it doesn't feel sticky after it's been applied, it feels silky and soft on my skin. It blends amazingly well, as it has the consistency of a mousse and isn't really watery, I love mousse foundations because I've always found they blend far better than liquids, but this is a liquid mousse so I'm getting the coverage I want with the texture I love. The coverage is apparantly 'medium' but I think that this is a foundation that'd be easy to build up depending on how much coverage you desire, I was happy with the coverage after just applying a single layer and it lasts very well. I tried this out first one evening before I went off to work, so I was wearing it for 4 hours without touch-ups, it stayed put and kept it's matte finish. As for the colour adapting, my mum mentioned that I looked like I had a healthy glow on my face, as if I'd been in the sun, which is good because I felt that it matched my skin tone well and looked natural, but apparently it also gives a healthy glow which is a bonus!
I really like to packaging too, the pump is easy to use and reduces any wastage. Most liquid foundations come in 30ml bottles, well with this one you get 34ml of product - which was yet another point that swayed me to try this.
All in all, I think I've finally found the foundation for me - Maybelline will always be a favourite, but this one is definitely a keeper, so for £9.99 I can't find anything to complain about!
My product rating - 9/10
