Barry M Magnetic Nail Effects nail polish

RRP - £4.99
I've always liked Barry M's products, as they offer great choice and a wide array of colours and effects at a reasonable price, I'd tried Barry M's Instant Nail Effects Crackle before so when I noticed this I thought I'd try it out as it seemed pretty cool.
The nail polish is supposedly magnetic, and built onto the lid is a small magnet that you're supposed to 'hover' over your nail in order to get the desired effect, you choose the effect you want to create as each lid has a different pattern on so they apparently all create different effects.
Well, if it hadn't been for the fact that I loved the colour in itself (I bought the magnetic black silver colour that is pictured opposite) I'd have taken this product back to the store I bought it from and gotten a refund, in my eyes this product is a complete waste of a fiver. I've tried it out countless times now, and I still can't seem to get an effect that even slightly resembles that on the lid, in fact I can barely get any effect full stop!
The bottle says to apply two coats, allowing the first one to dry completely before applying the second, and then to hover the magnet over your nail the second you've applied the second coat; I did this, and couldn't see a thing. The second time I tried out this nail polish, I did notice a little something happening, but it wouldn't have been noticeable to anyone else except myself (or someone who examines peoples nails with a magnifying glass).
The range has a pretty limited selection of colours, that said the colours in the range are pretty, but it lets itself down on it's selling point so I'd say if you're tempted to buy this nail polish, don't bother. Find a different brand that sells similar colours but don't waste your money on a product that doesn't work.

My product rating - 4/10
