Until very recently, I'd always been complimented on my 'perfect skin', and was forever getting asked what I did to keep it so clear. Well, the truth is - I really couldn't tell you, because I'm FOREVER switching up my skincare routine, as I get bored really easily and love buying new products.
However, I've got myself a little routine going now, that I'm gonna stick to for at least 2 months and hope, hope, hope, that it brings my skin back to it's former glory.
So, at the moment, here's what I'm using -

Up until about a week ago, I would alternate between a facial wash and a facial scrub for mornings, but after non-stop complaining to my parents about my skin they suggested I use Valderma soap. Now, I've always been really against using soap on my face because soap is so drying, but this soap is specially formulated for spot prone sensitive skin, and after reading a load of reviews that said this is unbeatable for keeping skin clear I thought "why not?". Valderma has been around for donkeys years, and it was actually my dad who recommended it to me, as he used to use it as a teenager.

I always follow cleansing with moisturiser, but I was reading about the importance of using an eye cream as the skin around the eye area is 4x thinner than on the rest of your face, so an eye cream isn't quite as heavy as an all-over facial moisturiser. I'm also a night owl, which means I'm always up late at night and I'm up early in the mornings too, meaning that the lack of sleep leaves me with horrible dark circles around my eyes, so I opted for this brightening eye cream from Superdrugs Naturally Radiant range, for £2.99. This cream promises to reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles after 4 weeks, so I'll see how it performs and maybe write up a review on it!

My mum used to work for a company called Forever Living Products, and they sell Aloe Vera based products. I would often often go with her to meetings and product demonstrations so got the chance to learn about the wonders of the 'miracle plant' that is Aloe Vera. Because of this, we have a lot of their products floating around the house, so I figured that instead of letting them go to waste I'd use them up! I found their Aloe face creams to be a bit too heavy, so employed the use of their Aloe Vera Gelly by mixing it in with my daily moisturiser, this way I'm getting the texture and SPF from my moisuriser that I like, with the added benefit of Aloe Vera that is well known to cure an array of ailments, including skin complaints. Forever Livings Aloe products penetrate every single layer of the skin, making their products perfect for improving the appearance and overall health of your skin. Finally, I follow with my moisturiser, the one I use is Olay Essentials Complete Care Sensitive Day Fluid. I've only just started using this one, but I'm quite liking it as it's very light, absorbs easily, contains SPF, is non fragranced and a little goes a long way. My mum bought me this after I was telling her how much I used to enjoy using one of Olays thicker creams, which left my skin feeling unbelieveably soft, this one doesn't do quite the same, but it still leaves my skin feeling moisturised and comfortable. The added SPF is a bonus too, as I'm really shocked to see how many moisturisers on the market nowadays don't incorporate SPF protection into their products, SPF is a must, especially for me as I'm really fair skinned so a tiny bit of sun leaves me burnt.

Before bed, I really can't be bothered with a whole facial cleansing routine (which is why I knocked the OCM on the head) so I swear by face wipes. But not just any face wipes, Lidl face wipes - yes that's right, Lidl. I've tried SO many different face wipes, and none of them have been as good as the ones from Lidls Lacura range. I always find that other face wipes are too dry, or too thin, or the wipe itself is too scratchy, etc etc - so I always return to these. They're absolutely perfect, the ones for sensitive skin are the ones that I use, they're not fragranced, they're soft, and the wipes are air cushioned so they're extra gentle, you really can't go wrong for 75p!

When I've finished removing my make up with the above face wipes, I use a facial toner to get any last dregs of make up and dirt off my face. For this, I use a toner from Superdrugs Simply Pure range, specially designed for sensitive skin, again, a product that is alcohol, fragrance and paraben free. I like this toner because unlike others that I've used in the past, it doesn't sting (thanks to the absence of alcohol) and it's great for picking up any make up the face wipes have missed. I apply this with cotton wool balls, as they're softer than cotton wool pads.
You can pick this up from any Superdrug store for £2.59.
I'm a sucker for Lush cosmetics, because I find a lot of them are really innovative and unusual, but can't always justify the price tag for something that is essentially a high street buy. But for Christmas last year I asked my Fiance for some goodies from Lush, with this cream on top of the list. This one is called Vanishing cream, and it's a lavender based moisturiser that is supposed to completely disappear into the skin, lavender oil is great for evening out skin tone and banishing blemishes, but I don't actually use this that often. I tend to reserve it for night time because it is quite heavy, so I'd have to wait ages for it to sink in before I could apply make up in the morning. Vanishing cream is priced at £17.50, but it does last a long time as you really only need a small amount, I once made the mistake of taking huge dollop out of the jar, only to be left with too much.
